Back to the 80’s at Ibrox today as a half empty stadium saw us cuffed by Dundee Utd. It was a horrible end to a traumatic week for the club, and the thought of this squad of players taking us through the rest of the season is quite frankly depressing. With all due respect the sight of Salim Kerkar and Andy Little leading the line for the last hour tells us all we need to know about the state of our great club.
There was one change from last weeks comfortable win over Hibernian. As expected Mervan Celik replaced Gregg Wylde on the right flank..

Rangers v Dundee United, Ibrox, Sunday 5 January, KO: 12:15
After the disappointment of the January transfer window we have a chance to put all that disappointment behind us (at least for the time being) with a victory over Dundee United in the Scottish Cup.
Dundee United progressed to the fifth round with a convincing 6-2 victory away to second division side Airdrie. Rangers meanwhile defeated Arbroath 4-0 to set up this all Premier League clash.
United aren't in the best form with only one win in their last five games, which was at home to relegation candidates Hibs. Their recent record shouldn't be overlooked as they still have players that can cause us problems, but they are a shadow of the team they were last season due to losing the likes of David Goodwillie and Craig Conway.

Rangers recovered from last weeks draw with Aberdeen to hammer hapless Hibs at Ibrox. While there were a few shaky moments at the back, we eventually ran over the top of the Edinburgh side who are in serious relegation trouble.
With Nikica Jelavic missing out through illness, Ally opted to start David Healy as the lone striker with Sone Aluko playing off him. Gregg Wylde came in on the right wing while Kyle Bartley continued to deputise at right back. New signing Mervan Celik had to make do with a place on the bench.
Aluko nearly opened the scoring early on but his goal bound shot was unfortunately blocked by Healy. Hibs had a couple of early flurries with Goian and Bocanegra looking uncharacteristically shaky. It was from one of these Hibs attacks that we took the lead.

This week i'd like to mention the fantastic team of Hong Kong Rangers(changed there name a few times). they share the same badge as Rangers which makes me wonder if we are the only major club to stare it's badge with another club. I have copied the information of Wikipedia but was aware of this club before.

In 1939, a group of young men met to discuss forming a new football club for the town of Carrickfergus. After agreeing that there was enough interest for the club to be constituted, there was further debate about the name of this new team. In the background of the room they met in, hung proudly on a wall was a picture of Glasgow Rangers.
